John Cowherd

Pathways Coordinator

John grew up in Greensburg, KY and graduated with a B.A. in History from the University of Kentucky in 1995. On a spring break mission trip to Memphis in 1995, John served at New Song Baptist Church in the 38126 zip code, and felt called by God to serve this community. In August 1995, John moved to Memphis and served as Youth Pastor at New Song Baptist Church; he was then hired by Streets as Middle School Coordinator and worked at Streets until May 2010. Only a few months later, John was called back to Streets and rejoined the staff as Middle School Coordinator in February 2011. John is an active member of Fellowship Memphis Downtown, is a huge sports fan, (with some of his favorite teams being St. Louis Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and the Kentucky Wildcats). John is also an avid traveler and has been all over the world, including China, Greece, Ireland, Kenya, Russia, Egypt, and more.
